The Dance Department

Beginning Ballet (1st and 7th hours)

 

Intermediate Ballet (2nd hour)

 

Advanced Ballet I, emphasis on choreography and performance (3rd hour)

 

Advanced Ballet II, emphasis on choreography and performance (6th hour)

 

Students will receive Physical Education credit for Dance I and II. Any student can sign up for Dance I. No previous ballet training required.

Classical trained ballet students should audition for placement. However, there is limited space to move up. Sophomores, juniors and seniors get placed first.

 

Video Audition: Students should wear ballet attire (black leotard, black or pink tights, and ballet shoes) with the hair pulled back in a bun or off the neck. (Ballet skirt optional) Once the video is complete, post it on Youtube and make it public, then fill out this form and copy your link here:

Ballet Audition

3-5 minutes of barre work, incorporating both sides

3-5 minutes of centre and across the floor work that includes adagio, pirouettes, and petit and grand allegro

*Begin your video by stating your First and last name, age, grade entering in fall of 2021

Rond de jambe

Grand Battement

Center Combinations

Adagio

Pirouettes
