BRMHS
Radio Broadcasting Program

WBRH-FM and KBRH-AM are operated by a professional management staff for the educational benefit of students enrolled in Baton Rouge Magnet High School's Training Program. Since 1977, WBRH and the Radio Training Program at Baton Rouge Magnet High School have trained leaders and innovators who have shaped our broadcast industry.

Radio Broadcasting

RADIO I This course covers the development and evolution of broadcasting, how it began to where it is today. The operation of radio equipment, and exploration of the duties of radio personnel, including announcers, operators and producers. In the WBRH/KBRH production studios, students will create a variety of radio programs, podcasts, and commercials through individual and group projects.

 

RADIO II Prerequisite: Radio Broadcasting I and teacher recommendation Students will further develop their pronunciation, enunciation, and announcing skills by hosting live on-air radio programs on 90.3fm WBRH and 1260am KBRH. Students will further develop and enhance their production and computer skills by producing prerecorded radio programs. Out of class participation is required once in the Fall and once in the Spring semesters.

 

RADIO III Prerequisite: Radio Broadcasting II and teacher recommendation Continuation of Radio II with the addition of enhanced station operations and production. Out of class participation is required once in the Fall and once in the Spring.
